Raksha Bandhan is just around the corner. You must be all set for the day, right?
I know, I know.
Still, a lot of work is left. You need to buy a few things and yes, that Mehendi. But just wait, and pause. Take a few deep breaths.
I am going to make your work a bit easier. If you have not planned for your Raksha Bandhan outfit and searching for some ideas that you should definitely read on.
I have teamed up with Rashmi Singh a.k.a Miss Makeup to plan 5 salwar suit outfit ideas you may try out. Why Salwar suit? Because salwar kameez is that one desi outfit that makes you feel comfortable and look fab at the same time.
So, here are our 5 raksha bandhan outfits ideas.
You can mix and match to make something new. And, yeah, Miss Rashmi didn’t buy new clothes for this outfit selection. She used whatever she has from her wardrobe. So, you can do that as well.
So without further ado, let’s start.
OUTFIT 1: Pastel salwar suit with dark earrings
Everyone is falling in love with pastel colors. And so, Rashmi planned on wearing this amazing pastel yellow salwar suit. However, the thing with pastel shade outfits is that they don’t look good without the right accessories. So, she wore silver-black earrings and black bangles. This creates a contrast making the colors pop.
You can do wonders with soft colors like these. If you have dusky or medium skin tone the yellows will look great on you. Alternatively, you may choose teal and aqua.
She used red lipstick but you must choose the lip color according to your outfit and skin tone. She completed the look with a white sandal. This outfit gives a gentle and calm vibe. So, if you can relate to these words, then definitely make this your outfit inspiration.
OUTFIT 2: Combo Bright colors Kurti and leggings
Miss Rashmi is a fan of mix and match and so am I. She purchased this long orange Kurti in some random shop in Patna after bargaining. She paired it with green leggings and a light green dupatta. The dupatta belongs to her sister, which she borrowed (ahem…stole) for this photo shoot.
If you wish to stand out in the crowd then try out this combo color look. If the words ‘unique’ and ‘carefree’ connect with you then this outfit should be in your list of Raksha Bandhan outfits ideas.
OUTFIT 3: Teal Kurti with golden skirt. Paired with ethnic earrings
For our dusky to medium skin tone beauties, this outfit may be a good choice. This outfit is set though. Miss Rashmi purchased it for one of her cousin’s wedding.
We thought this might be a nice outfit for Raksha Bandhan. Her didi suggested these golden ethnic earrings to pair with this outfit. She was adamant about it actually! But the final look is perfect, isn’t, it?
So if you have such a salwar suit with a long skirt. Then this might be the right occasion to wear it. The dupatta is white silk, but light gold dupatta will also look nice with this outfit.
So, if you wish to look elegant and traditional at the same time, then add this to your inspiration list.
OUTFIT 4: Blue shades salwar suit
This outfit is my favorite out of all. We are fans of perfectly fitted Kurtis. And this salwar suit definitely enhances her figure. I am sure, you will have this kind of Kurtis in your wardrobe. So, take it out and wear it with a pair of leggings of a different shade. Just like Rashmi did! She matched it with royal blue leggings and dupatta.
But don’t forget to put some lip color according to your skin tone and outfit. For some pop of colors, you can go for oxidized jewelry. Oxidized jewelry goes nicely with one colored outfit such as the one you are seeing above.
This outfit screams attitude and fun. So, if these words match with your style, then go for this desi outfit.
OUTFIT 5: Orange and Royal Blue sleeveless kurti paired with blue leggings
Yeah right, this is the one in the feature image.
If you have a sleeveless Kurti, don’t be afraid to wear it on this Raksha Bandhan. This is a modern yet desi look. Paired with the oxidized earrings the whole outfit looks captivating.
And, yes, yes, our model is also quite pretty.
You must have noticed already that she has worn the same royal blue leggings as in the above outfit. So, yes, you can also do that.
If in your house Raksha Bandhan is a huge thing and a whole day event, then pairing a single pair of leggings with two Kurtis will perfectly work out. But don’t forget to accessorize the outfit with the oxidized jewelry. They look awesome on bright colors.
She kept the hair open to show off her carefree attitude. So, you may also try this out.
